The first half of this two part book tells the story of an ordinary boy enriched by his mother's faith yet torn apart by a bitter divorce. Maintaining his religious underpinnings, Mark struggles through the divorce and graduates from college with a degree in finance. This takes him to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange where he makes millions of dollars, marries his wife and retires at the age of 36. Shortly after, Mark received a Master's degree in Theology setting the foundation for the remainder of his life. The first half of the book ends with the death his forth child, Kevin, which becomes the catalyst for a tremendous spiritual conversion. The second half of the book walks the reader through that conversion documenting the steps taken to accomplish it. A discussion of physics is used to set up a foundation for further explanations in theology. This discussion results in a need to re-evaluate the meaning of Mark 8:29 when Jesus asks: "Who do you say that I am?" The result is a shift from orthodox religion to a focus on Sophian Gnosticism. Time is spent focusing on Kabbalah and The Tree of Life, and on a special sign Mark created called the "Sign of the Tree." Kabbalistic teachings on reincarnation and suffering are explored. Mark applies these teachings to his life by leaving the material world behind, going to work at a homeless shelter, and becoming a hospice volunteer.

A personal account of—and guide to—unlocking the wildlife potential of gardens and other plots of land in lowland Britain Over the past decade, wildlife author and photographer Paul Sterry has nurtured, both through action and by doing nothing, what has become a small island of flourishing biodiversity in the half-acre garden that surrounds his north Hampshire cottage. By giving nature a free hand, and fostering habitats appropriate to this part of southeast England, he has enabled an abundance of native plant and animal species to call the garden home. This contrasts with the continued decline in biodiversity in the surrounding countryside. In this inspiring and informative book, Sterry tells the story of his own experiences in biodiversity gardening and offers detailed practical advice to anyone who wants to give nature the upper hand on their own bit of land, no matter how small. Hampshire still retains traces of its rich wildlife heritage, but changes in land use over the past half-century have had a devastating impact on local biodiversity. Against this backdrop, The Biodiversity Gardener presents a habitat-driven and evidence-based approach, describing how any gardener can unlock the wildlife potential of their plot and enjoy the satisfaction of watching it become home to a rich array of native species, including butterflies, wildflowers, grasshoppers, amphibians, and fungi. In The Biodiversity Gardener, Sterry explains the ecological imperative of adopting this approach. Collectively, biodiversity gardens could leave a lasting legacy—wildlife oases from which future generations stand a fighting chance of restoring Britain’s natural heritage. The book encourages and empowers readers to create their own biological inheritance for posterity—and shows them how they can do it.

"Life turns you right-side up and upside down and all manner of sideways. But somehow a person can end right-side up again. Not the same, mind you. No. Never the same. But sometimes what a person tumbles through becomes meaningful in the long run." Jane It was her youngest sister, the one who joined the Army, who'd said it to her. When you're standing in an airplane door with a parachute strapped to your back, either close your eyes and jump, or get out of the way and sit. Prudence had been thinking about that ever since her sister's visit. She was tired of sitting. She'd been tired of it for a long time. Prudence Both of Sam's hands flew to her cheeks. "Oh my!" she gasped. "Oh my!" And then came the giggles. She extended both arms outward like a wooden scarecrow and began to twirl. Around and around, not too fast at first, gaining momentum. Love! There was no doubt about it. They were going to fall in love. Samantha Fifteen women. Fifteen stories. Some happy. Some sad. Some surprisingly weird.

ONE HELL OF A PARADISE... Ahh, the Aulverse, a world of wonder and anarchy, of entitlement and squalor; two sides to a very specific coin – the coin of this hellish paradise. Heads, and you might find yourself amongst the royals of the Kingdom of Bovidae; with their fancy horns and proper mannerisms, all groomed beyond perfection with silver spoons crammed so far inside their mouths it’s a wonder they can even breathe. Tails though, and you might find yourself in the slums of the Aphid Tunnels, surrounded by equally as oppressed insectoids, all born into slavery with no hope for freedom. Some have been known to find graces in their ill fate, just as others have gambled away their luck, life in the Aulverse however, just as any life, is what you make of it, so why not turn your back on the chain gang and the ivory towers? Why not venture out into No Man’s Land and peruse the diabolical Grisly Woods – really get that blood pumping? Who knows? You might even get to the bottom of the mysteries of this place, figure out why it is that one even finds themselves here, or how exactly, one might escape.
