Like many young Christians, Kevin Brown had what he believed to be a strong faith, one that provided answers to all the questions he had and might encounter. He even attended a Christian college and considered becoming a youth minister. While there, though, he began having doubts about his faith, began asking questions that came from discussions both in and out of the classroom--questions he couldn't find answers to. When the church told him he shouldn't be asking those questions, he left the church and his faith behind. He kept asking questions, though, and kept looking for a faith that would allow him to have questions and doubts, yet still believe. What he found may offer an answer to the religious divide in our society--one that separates evangelical from progressive Christians, one that separates sacred from secular. In this memoir, Brown describes his spiritual journey from his first faith to the loss of faith to the way he found back to a Christianity where he can ask those questions, a different way than he knew before. He still has questions and doubts, but he also has faith, in spite of and because of those questions and doubts.

Another Way describes a new way of leadership for the 21st Century, one that inspires people to delve deeply into their own selves and that creates a mysterious relatedness among strangers. When this leadership happens, we remember people are created to experience community, to find joy in one another, and to create a better world out of a deep reservoir where the soul resides. Written by the leaders of the Forum for Theological Exploration, the internationally recognized leadership incubator for emerging Christian leaders, Another Way will shape the way you look at yourself, your leadership, and the communities that hold you accountable to making the world a better place.

How can theologians, philosophers, and ordinary people think about the Holy Spirit in the twenty-first century? This volume offers one model: the pneumatology of minoritarian communal interpretation, the alternative creation of meaning within an oppressive majority context. Garber looks at the stories of Saul, Ezekiel, and Jesus in the Gospels; the Radical Reformers of the sixteenth century; and a contemporary group of "spiritual but not religious" artists to see how they understand the Spirit working in their lives. He weaves together the theories of John Howard Yoder, Deleuze and Guattari, and media theorists like Stanley Fish, Jeremy Stolow, and Thomas Lindlof as a theological and philosophical background to those stories. In the end, the Holy Spirit is "being weird like Jesus together"--and Garber offers some observations on what that might look like, throughout history and today.

This is the work of a national nonfiction masterpiece. The experiences, strength, and hope described herein are true events. The vivid memories of my family and friends have been modified as I remembered the situations to protect their anonymity. This is a national outreach to those who still suffer from abuse together we stand divided we fall. This is a true story of abuse awareness for victims to receive help in sexual, mental, and physical abuse. The story of triumph over abuse, alcoholism, and trauma are episodes about my life. I wrote this book through the eyes of an innocent young child being abused. The promises start to happen when the victim surrenders to the will of God nothing else worked. This material will help people build a foundation of willingness to conquer abuse through the powerful medicine of Gods forgiveness. The road to freedom for the victims of abuse expressed in this work starts with assimilating the trauma, and identifying the problem. This book allows people to see the power of God working in children so powerful that at a young age. I was able to hide the trauma better than being a grown up trying to survive. I just want people to know that they are not alone in their suffering and trauma. We can survive together even though I may not know who they are this message is for those who still suffer.

We want positive change but we have a hard time making it happen. We are met with resistance from others or become paralyzed by our own fears and confusion. When we do initiate change or desire things to go a certain way, they frequently unfold in an unexpected and undesirable manner. As a result, we become disoriented, discouraged and frustrated. Change is rarely a straightforward process and we are likely to face the undesirable and unexpected along the way. We can navigate through change successfully if we make full use of our basic biology, which wires us to effectively navigate the world. That biology is made up of our beliefs, emotions, senses, and thoughts. These work in tandem so that we can acknowledge emerging conditions, evaluate them, and take responsive action. Our biological navigation systems are mostly out of practice, however, because in our modern culture we do not utilize our senses effectively, we do not process our emotions fully, and because we are prone to intellectual denial. What makes matters worse is that in adopting the norms of our modern society—along with its belief systems and modes of operating—we actively hijack our navigation system. All of this prevents us from moving toward positive change—as individuals and as a society. Another Way: Navigating Toward Positive Change is a user manual of our internal navigation system. It does not matter if you are reading this book because you are going through a life transition or because you are trying to change the world. The process that must take place in each case is the same. The book and the exercises at the end of each chapter will help you through your own personal journey.

Drawing on a variety of methodological and theoretical perspectives, the case studies compiled in Another Way: Decentralization, Democratization and the Global Politics of Community-Based Schooling offer a comparative look at how global processes of educational decentralization have both helped and hindered the development of community-based schools in local-level settings across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. On the one hand, the book shows how increased decentralization is often perceived as essential to assuring robust levels of democratization, community participation and social justice in education. On the other hand, it is also shown how processes of educational decentralization are often experienced in local communities as a mechanism of increased austerity, privatization and segregation.

At a time when the National Health Service (NHS) is undergoing critical scrutiny following numerous revelations of poor care and mismanagement, this book tells the story of an independent hospital, which working in partnership with the NHS yet remaining outside the state system, provides a very high quality of care for patients which is free at the point of delivery. The story of the Horder Centre falls conveniently into two parts. Part one describes the time from its founding until the death of its founder, Cecilia Bochenek, in 1981. Part two describes the establishment of the surgical unit there and the development of a modern joint replacement service. To maintain the status quo is no longer tenable. A radical change is needed in the NHS and if the independent sector or the private sector can assist in that endeavour, their contribution should be welcomed not resisted.

At last you can find out who you really are and you can walk free.’ It's a must read book for anyone suffering from any form of trauma, or those simply wanting to live a fuller life, free from the confines of our conditioning and limiting belief systems.
