**All five stories collected in this volume have been previously published in various collections, novels and anthologies, including Forge and Steel, Planetary Assault, First Conquest, Desolator: Conquest, and Jerry Pournelle's There Will Be War X.** Earth and her solar system are under continuous attack by an empire of a thousand worlds. The enemy's living ships spread inexorably from star to star, reproducing along the way. The only thing standing in their way are the men and women of EarthFleet and their Fleet Marine brothers- and sisters-in-arms. But soon, EarthFleet will launch its own counterattack, a desperate bid to conquer an enemy star system and turn the tide of war. Leading the assault will be Sergeant Major Jill "Reaper" Repeth, Lieutenant Joseph "Bull" ben Tauros, Admiral Henrich Absen, and Commander Vincent Markis, all ready to lay their lives on the line to preserve the lives and freedom of a fragile humanity. This is the world of Plague Wars: Stellar Conquest, a science fiction saga spanning sixteen novels and several shorter stories.
A rogue spaceship captain. A human scientist. An explosive attraction. Faith has spent the past eight years as a scientist locked in an alien research lab. When she finally manages to escape and finds out what the aliens are doing with her work, she is appalled and determined to stop their plans. The alien spaceship captain who unknowingly assisted her escape is going to help her shut down the lab - whether he wants to or not. And she's not going to let his massive body or the kind heart hidden behind his gruff facade distract her. Captain Athtar finally has his life exactly the way he wants it - he has his ship, his crew, and his freedom. No mouthy little human is going to interfere with any of that, no matter how much she tempts him or how much his instincts demand that he claim her. If only he weren't as tempted as much by her brilliant mind as by her luscious body. Can Faith and Athtar fight their overwhelming attraction long enough to defeat the evil scientists and stay ahead of the Imperial Fleet? And when the battle is over, can there be a future for the two of them? Each book in the Alien Abduction series features a different couple and can be enjoyed as a standalone romance. Intended for mature readers.

I met an alien. He is mind-scorchingly hot. I actually think I am falling for him. One problem...he is my alien slave master and I am trying to escape.CarissaI've never known Earth. Or freedom. Both were taken from me when I was too young to remember. But I know exactly what the latest alien scumbags to buy me have in mind, the moment I hear the word "fertile."Desperation's the mother of invention, and one easily seduced guard later, I'm escaping to finally live on my own terms. To find my mom, my one connection to a planet I'll probably never see. The only person who's ever given a damn about me. It's all that keeps me going. The source of every last drop of energy I eke out of this miserable existence, when I have so many reasons to just give up and fade away.Like my crap luck. Reason infinity why I should just pop out the airlock of my stolen ship and say "Sayonara universe, PS you suck."My first escape attempt that's ever resulted in an actual escape, and I run smack into one of the most infamous dragon shapeshifters in the galaxy. But I haven't come this far just to give up. I escaped once, I can do it again. And no smug, self-impressed alien edgelord is going to stop me. Even if he is so mind scorchingly hot it makes my brain bleed to think of choosing to deprive myself of the eye candy. The universe had years to try and keep me down. You think one little dragon's gonna do any better?Fine. One really big dragon. Whatever. Bring it.TarionWe dragons are a simple people, with simple philosophies. Like why ask for something you can simply take? The rest of the galaxy tends to be too busy fleeing from us in terror to answer that, so I assume they agree.Until Carissa Maeberry. The most baffling creature in existence, she doesn't seem to get how this works. I have claws. Fire. A ruthless crew. She has an admittedly tragic backstory and a slave collar. The scales aren't exactly balanced. And yet to see her defiance, you'd think she held all the cards. This book studies American science fiction films depicting invasions of the USA and Earth by extra- terrestrials within the context of imperialism from 1950–2020. It shows how such films imagine America and its allies as objects of colonial control. This trope enables filmmakers to explore the ethics of American interventionism abroad either by defending the status quo or by questioning interventionism. The study shows how these films comment on American domestic hegemonic practices regarding racial or gender hierarchies, as well as hegemonic practices abroad. Beginning with the Cold War consensus in the 1950s, the study shows how hegemony at home and abroad promotes division in the culture.
"No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's..." So begins H. G. Wells' classic novel in which Martian lifeforms take over planet Earth. As the Martians emerge, they construct giant killing machines - armed with heatrays - that are impervious to attack. Advancing upon London they destroy everything in their path. Everything, except the few humans they collect in metal traps. Victorian England is a place in which the steam engine is state-of-the-art technology and powered flight is just a dream. Mankind is helpless against the killing machines from Mars, and soon the survivors are left living in a new stone age. Includes the original Warwick Goble illustrations.
