DOWNLOAD EBOOK"The document "Indicators for the sustainable development of finfish Mediterranean aquaculture: highlights from the InDAM Project" reports the activities carried out during the first year of the InDAM Project "Indicators for Sustainable Development of Aquaculture and Guidelines for their use in the Mediterranean", in support to the GFCM CAQ Working Group on Sustainability in Aquaculture (WGSA). The project focuses on the practical use of the indicators for sustainable aquaculture and their adaptation to the Mediterranean Region. The methodology applied for the identification of the preliminary list of indicators was based on the PCI (Principles, Criteria and Indicators) approach and took into consideration the main outcomes and achievements of the recent projects carried out in the Mediterranean on the identification of indicators for sustainable aquaculture. The document also reports the results of the workshop on the "Selection of indicators for the sustainable development of aquaculture in the Mediterranean Sea" (27-28 November 2008, Montpellier, France), the expert meeting on "Indicators for the sustainable development of aquaculture in the Mediterranean Sea" (24-26 February 2009, Montpellier, France) and the workshop on "Guidelines and application of indicators for sustainable development of aquaculture" (19-20 November 2009, Salammbô, Tunisia), with recommendations given by the WGSA. The two pilot studies on the selection and evaluation of the indicators for aquaculture sustainable development carried out in Mugla, Turkey, and Monastir, Tunisia, are described. The report also includes a series of documents gathered and produced by the experts involved in InDAM activities."--P. [4] of cover.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKOne of the most crucial but still very poorly understood topics of oceanographic science is the role of ocean processes in contributing to the dynamics of climate and global change. This book presents a series of high level lectures on the major categories of ocean/atmosphere processes. Three of these major issues are the focus of the lectures: (1) air--sea interaction processes; (2) water mass formation, dispersion and mixing; (3) general circulation, with specific emphasis on the thermohaline component. Global examples in the world ocean are provided and discussed in the lectures. In parallel, the Mediterranean Sea is a laboratory basin in providing analogues of the above global processes relevant to climate dynamics. They include the Mediterranean thermohaline circulation with its own `conveyor belt'; intermediate and deep water mass formation and transformations, dispersion and mixing. No other book in the field provides a review of fundamental lectures on these processes, coupled with global examples and their Mediterranean analogues.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKAttention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neurological disorder that impacts focus, self-control, and other skills important in daily life. Caused by differences in brain anatomy and wiring, it is known to be one of the most common conditions in childhood. As ADHD plays a serious role in how children function in school and in their everyday life, having a deep understanding of this neurological condition is critical. This book explores recent advances in neuroimaging techniques, methods, applications and machine learning algorithms. Key Features Contributions from world-class researchers in neurological disorders imaging Introductory section on the fundamentals of various imaging techniques A comprehensive overview of imaging related dyslexia, epilepsy, and Parkinson's Artificial Intelligence principles incorporated throughout Emphasis on deep learning paradigms
