The amounts shown under Assistance were obtained by tabulating the actual amount of funds paid as the Federal cost share to the farmer for the performance of the practice. The amount of assistance shown for the conservation practices in this publication varies fran the Credit Value data which was shown in previous years' publications in that the Credit Value was not identical with the amount of assistance actually given (see Agricultural Conservation Program Statistical Summary The Assistance shown for each practice does not include any of the funds for Small Cost Share Increases which are required by legislation.
