This bulletin is one of a series prepared by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that traces changes in wage scales and related benefits negotiated by individual employers or combinations of employers with a union or group of unions. Benefits unilaterally introduced by anĀ· employer generally are included. The information is obtained largely from collective bargaining agreements and related documents voluntarily filed with the Bureau. Descriptions of the course of collective bargaining are derived from the news media and confirmed and supplemented by the parties to the agreement. Wage chronologies deal only with selected features of collective bargaining or wage determination. They are intended primarily as a tool for research, analysis, and wage administration. References to job security, grievance procedures, methods of piece-rate adjustment, and similar matters are omitted. This chronology summarizes changes in wage rates and supplementary compensation practices since May 1941 negotiated by Rockwell International Corporation (Electronics, North American Aircraft, and North American Space Operations) with the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America. Materials previously published have been supplemented in this bulletin by contract changes negotiated for the 1971-77 period.
