"The State of Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) Transitionary Rental Assistance Program (T-RAP) is a rent subsidy program with a maximum term of one year, created by legislation in 1999 through Public Act 99-279. It is intended to supplement the Federal Section 8 Housing Program (now known as the Housing Choice Voucher Program) and the state's Rental Assistance Program , by providing an opportunity for low-income families, who become employed and leave Temporary Family Assistance (TFA), to live in decent, safe and sanitary housing (see sections 17b-811a-1 through 17b-811a-8 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies).
