Parasitic weeds of the families Cuscutaceae, Orobanchaceae and Scrophulariaceae are considered to be among the major problems facing agriculture in the Tropics and Subtropics. Diseases constitute serious biotic constraints to sorghum production within West and Central Africa (WCA).
