It is as to the establishment of a precedent that concerns us mostly now. If the government is too weak, let us alter our Constitution and make it stronger; but let us above all things, preserve the integrity of that hal lowed instrument in all its parts but most especially in those features of it which embrace and guarantee the liberties of the people. The hope is, that the people may understand the nature and importance of the whole subject; the fear is, that they may fail to bestow sufficient care and interest upon it; for in defending this priceless Writ of liberty.
