A Phase I archeological survey of the Purcell property: a 42-acre+ parcel located between the intersections of Davis Ford Road (Route 663) with Bacon Race Road (Route 896) to the north and Asdee Lane (Route 706) to the south in Prince William County, Virginia. The archeological survey was conducted at the request of the Prince William County Office of Planning. The archeological survey was composed of documentary research and fieldwork. Historical research established that the Purcell property study area was originally part eighteenth-century land grants. Between the nineteenth and first half of the twentieth centuries, the study area was owned by the Fairfax and Davis families.
