Excerpt from A History of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, North Carolina, 1891-1966 From the time of. Mr. Harden's death until the following December the church was without a minister. During this period a supply pastor filled the pulpit. The Reverend R. C. Grady of Wilmington was called in November, 1934; he began his work with the church on December 1, 1934. During Mr Grady's term as pastor the rotary system of election of church officers was inaugurated and worship services were modeled along traditional Presbyterian lines. The number of communion services was increased fro-m quarterly to bimonthly celebrations. A Junior Choir was organized and a lending library begun for young maple and adults.
