The words start off with 3 letters and then progress up to 11 letters.The child must do the following exercises for each word this includes; connect the dots, fill in the missing letters, write out the word, read out the word 6 times, find the word in the crossword, outline the word, color in the word, color in the picture that explains the word & have somebody read out the meaning of the word to them. All these tasks are completed inside this activity book. It is recommended an adult sits with them during these exercises to read out the explanation of the words at the bottom of the page. After every 10 words there is a small test which needs an adult to support them. The US English format was used in this book series so there will be a slight variation in spelling of some words if this is different to your local English language. Once your child has mastered all 100 words starting with letter ' l ', then it's recommended they start book 11 in this series, Letter ' m '.
