DOWNLOAD EBOOKEngineering solutions to the development of techniques to transfer power without any physical medium have been envisioned for quite some time to mitigate the complexity involved in the wiring of electronic and electrical systems. Various attempts to demonstrate power-beaming phenomena have met with some success, as industry keeps searching for new approaches and methods. Our work has been involved with the specific application of a wireless power transmission system to be used on the heat shield of a spacecraft. A proof-of-concept design to power multiple sensor modules energized by a central transmitter station has been designed and tested. During the course of the project, interesting observations have been noted and documented. With limited available research on the topic, we have proposed and formulated theoretical analyses and conclusions based on observational data derived from the tests performed on the modules built. This work contributes to this new, little explored area of research, and suggests future uses of the system for other applications.
