Ivan wanted to kill me for even looking his sister’s way. He isn’t here though, is he? He won’t know if I sneak kisses with the innocent Russian Princess. Anya I'm lonely in Boston, even though I shouldn't be. I've made new friends, but I still feel like the odd one out. This is not the end of Jake and Theo. Their adventures are just beginning. As the author, I have fully enjoyed my two leading characters. Some people might call them foulmouthed, womanizing alcoholics, but whatever you may think of them, they are real human beings true to themselves. I’m moving on to other writings for a while, but by no means am I abandoning my detectives. As of now, I have several books in the beginning stage, one of them being a children’s book. Don’t laugh. There are people out there who said I would never write a book at all, that I lack the skills. True, my grammar sucks, putting it mildly, but I didn’t let that stop me. I have never had an editor. My daughter helped me with this one, and I did meet a few people on the way who lent me support and a hand or two. I wish I had a dollar for every book I gave away to people who never even opened a page. This does not make me angry; it just makes me stronger. If my books seem to read differently or awkwardly, then you most likely don’t know that they should read a little like a screenplay. That’s because they were all written as screenplays and meant to be turned into films. I kind of like it that way. Most authors write 100 pages of story and 300 pages of description. I, on the other hand, like 300 pages of story and 100 pages of description. Leave description to the reader’s imagination. I’m going to take a much needed rest for now, but keep an eye out for me. I’m not going away for long, I assure you of that. By the way, if you’re all wondering what Jake O’Malley really looks like, check out Armand Assante’s latest works on film or just go back and watch the Emmy award winning film, Gotti. That’s my Jake!

Not quite human, not quite beast. Not quite female, not quite male. Sometimes hunter, sometimes prey. Always alone. Until them. Fiend hunter Sam “Sabertooth” Forest is used to being on the outskirts. Being a cur with a mix of shifter and human blood, Sam can’t fully shift to beast but can’t fully pass as human. Through sheer determination, and a desire to protect the broken shifter woman who raised them, Sam has managed to eek out a place of their own in a world devastated by the rift that allowed monsters to spill into the earth plane. Sam hunts monsters, sometimes curs and mongrels just like Sam. The work might be dangerous, and the humans might want to put the mixed breed hunter on their hitlist, but it’s a job. It’s freedom. Sam works alone and trusts no one. The next hunt should bring in a big bounty—big enough to pay the pack extortion fee and keep Sam’s adoptive mother safe through winter. But when a Leprechaun horns in on Sam's unicorn hunt and tricks Sam into forming a hunter’s guild, Sam is suddenly burdened by an overabundance of people. Setting off to hunt one-horned murder beasts with an annoying leprechaun and a nerdy half-ogre is bad enough. But when you add in a betrayal by the seductive siren Sam has loved since childhood, and the machinations of a rich human politician, well…Sam’s simple, lonely little life just got a whole lot more complicated. Author’s Note: I love reverse harem, but I got sick of reading the same old tropes. In my books you will find atypical characters and varied sexuality. In general, you probably won’t find many alpha males or fainting females. The Not Quite series is a harem/reverse harem urban fantasy series of novellas (between 35,000-45,000 words) and contains the following: *adult language, and lots of it *moderate levels of violence/gore/action *graphic sexual situations *polyamory/ multiple lovers *LBGTQ and straight themes (the main character is intersex and will have both male and female lovers, and this is a harem, so expect M/F, M/M, F/F, MMMFF etc.) *as usual, my characters all have their own emotional scars. This means the book MAY contain mentions of abuse, unpleasant situations, etc. Please do not read if you are triggered by things like this.

In 1941, a treaty between England and Germany unravels—and so does a different World War II. In Harry Turtledove’s mesmerizing alternate history of World War II, the choices of men and fate have changed history. Now it is the winter of 1941. As the Germans, with England and France on their side, slam deep into Russia, Stalin’s terrible machine fights for its life. But the agreements of world leaders do not touch the hearts of soldiers. The war between Germany and Russia is rocked by men with the courage to aim their guns in a new direction. England is the first to be shaken. Following the suspicious death of Winston Churchill, with his staunch anti-Nazi views, a small cabal begins to imagine the unthinkable in a nation long famous for respecting the rule of law. With civil liberties hanging by a thread, a conspiracy forms against the powers that be. What will this daring plan mean for the European war as a whole? Meanwhile, in America, a woman who has met Hitler face-to-face urges her countrymen to wake up to his evil. For the time being, the United States is fighting only Japan—and the war is not going as well as Washington would like. Can Roosevelt keep his grip on the country’s imagination? Coup d’Etat captures how war makes for the strangest of bedfellows. A freethinking Frenchman fights side by side with racist Nazis. A Czech finds himself on the dusty front lines of the Spanish Civil War, gunning for Germany’s Nationalist allies. A German bomber pilot courts a half-Polish, half-Jewish beauty in Bialystock. And the Jews in Germany, though trapped under Hitler’s fist, are as yet protected by his fear of looking bad before the world—and by an outspoken Catholic bishop. With his spectacular command of character, coincidence, and military and political strategies, Harry Turtledove continues a passionate, unmatched saga of a World War II composed of different enemies, different allies—and hurtling toward a horrific moment. For a diabolical new weapon is about to be unleashed, not by the United States, but by Japan, in a tactic that will shock the world. Praise for Coup d’Etat “Turtledove’s masterful presentation of an alternate WWII reaches its fourth volume with its quality undiminished. . . . A tribute to [his] commanding skills.”—Booklist (starred review) “For lovers of alternative history, and particularly the very popular Turtledove with his appealing weaponry, battle tactics, and setting details, this story will satisfy. It sets out to entertain . . . and that it does.”—Historical Novels Review “The book’s grand scope and Turtledove’s impressive historical knowledge are admirable.”—Kirkus Reviews
