The Stone Age occupations of Qeqertarsuup Tunua (Disko Bugt) are among the most thoroughly surveyed and best known in Greenland. This volume presents the results of the author's research on a regional scale as well as on the scale of a single camp site. It focuses on the horizontal dimensions rather than stratigraphies. The principal objectives are descrip-tions of settlement patterns, dwelling types and the spatial organisation of dwellings. Saqqaq and Dorset culture sites are presented and the results are synthesised and discussed in rela-tion to earlier research in the same region as well as in relation to the Palaeo-Eskimo settle-ments in other parts of Greenland.

In The Greenland Entomofauna an international team of 64 taxonomic specialists provide for the first time a richly illustrated guide to the identification of the ≈1200 species of Hexapods/Insects, Arachnids and Myriapods so far known to occur in the country. While the composition, origin and adaptations of the Greenland fauna has always been a challenge to biogeographers and ecologists/ecophysiologists, the provision of a tool for detailed identification of its constituent species is now particularly timely, since global climate change will expectedly have a particularly noticeable impact on biota at high latitudes. This obviously renders the feasibility of monitoring distributional range shifts of the principal components of this biota a matter of some urgency. The Asian monsoon and associated river systems supply the water that sustains a large portion of humanity, and has enabled Asia to become home to some of the oldest and most productive farming systems on Earth. This book uses climate data and environmental models to provide a detailed review of variations in the Asian monsoon since the mid-Holocene, and its impacts on farming systems and human settlement. Future changes to the monsoon due to anthropogenically-driven global warming are also discussed. Faced with greater rainfall and more cyclones in South Asia, as well as drying in North China and regional rising sea levels, understanding how humans have developed resilient strategies in the past to climate variations is critical. This is a report on the guidance given to fisheries data-managers on improving their collecting, processing, storage and reporting capabilities of information on the status and trends of their marine capture fisheries, provided by the CARICOM Fisheries Unit and the FAO. There was also proposals and discussion on expanding the data collection on national fisheries to include social and economic information.
