This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2006, held in Athens, GA, USA in November 2006. It features more than 52 papers that address all current issues in the field of the semantic Web, ranging from theoretical aspects to various applied topics. An additional 14 papers detail applications in government, public health, public service, academic, and industry.
The Web is a globalinformationspace consistingoflinked documents andlinked data. As the Web continues to grow and new technologies, modes of interaction, and applications are being developed, the task of the Semantic Web is to unlock the power of information available on the Web into a common semantic inf- mation space and to make it available for sharing and processing by automated tools as well as by people. Right now, the publication of large datasets on the Web, the opening of data access interfaces, and the encoding of the semantics of the data extend the current human-centric Web. Now, the Semantic Web c- munity is tackling the challenges of how to create and manage Semantic Web content, how to make Semantic Web applications robust and scalable, and how to organize and integrate information from di?erent sources for novel uses. To foster the exchange of ideas and collaboration, the International Semantic Web Conference brings together researchers and practitioners in relevant disciplines such as arti?cial intelligence, databases, social networks, distributed computing, Web engineering, information systems, natural language processing, soft c- puting, and human–computer interaction. This volume contains the main proceedings of ISWC 2008, which we are - cited to o?er to the growing community of researchers and practitioners of the Semantic Web. We got a tremendous response to our call for research papers from a truly international community of researchers and practitioners from 41 countries submitting 261 papers. The two-volume set LNCS 11136 and 11137 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2018, held in Monterey, USA, in October 2018. The ISWC conference is the premier international forum for the Semantic Web / Linked Data Community. The total of 62 full papers included in this volume was selected from 250 submissions. The conference is organized in three tracks: for the Research Track 39 full papers were selected from 164 submissions. The Resource Track contains 17 full papers, selected from 55 submissions; and the In-Use track features 6 full papers which were selected from 31 submissions to this track.
The two-volume set LNCS 8218 and 8219 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2013, held in Sydney, Australia, in October 2013. The International Semantic Web Conference is the premier forum for Semantic Web research, where cutting edge scientific results and technological innovations are presented, where problems and solutions are discussed, and where the future of this vision is being developed. It brings together specialists in fields such as artificial intelligence, databases, social networks, distributed computing, Web engineering, information systems, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and the social sciences. Part 1 (LNCS 8218) contains a total of 45 papers which were presented in the research track. They were carefully reviewed and selected from 210 submissions. Part 2 (LNCS 8219) contains 16 papers from the in-use track which were accepted from 90 submissions. In addition, it presents 10 contributions to the evaluations and experiments track and 5 papers of the doctoral consortium.
As the Web continues to grow, increasing amounts of data are being made available for human and machine consumption. This emerging Semantic Web is rapidly entering the mainstream and, as a result, a variety of new solutions for searching, aggregating and the intelligent delivery of information are being produced,bothinresearchandcommercialsettings.Severalnewchallengesarise from this context, both from a technical and human–computer interaction p- spective – e.g., as issues to do with the scalability andusability of Semantic Web solutions become particularly important. The International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC) is the major inter- tional forum where the latest research results and technical innovations on all aspects of the Semantic Web are presented. This book constitutes the proceedings of the 22nd International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2023, which took place in October 2023 in Athens, Greece. The 58 full papers presented in this double volume were thoroughly reviewed and selected from 248 submissions. Many submissions focused on the use of reasoning and query answering, witha number addressing engineering, maintenance, and alignment tasks for ontologies. Likewise, there has been a healthy batch of submissions on search, query, integration, and the analysis of knowledge. Finally, following the growing interest in neuro-symbolic approaches, there has been a rise in the number of studies that focus on the use of Large Language Models and Deep Learning techniques such as Graph Neural Networks.

It brings together specialists in fields such as artificial intelligence, databases, social networks, distributed computing, Web engineering, information systems, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and the social sciences. Part 1 (LNCS 8796) contains a total of 38 papers which were presented in the research track. They were carefully reviewed and selected from 180 submissions. The two-volume set LNCS 9981 and 9982 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2016, which was held in Kobe, Japan, in October 2016. The 75 full papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 326 submissions. The International Semantic Web Conference is the premier forum for Semantic Web research, where cutting edge scientific results and technological innovations are presented, where problems and solutions are discussed, and where the future of this vision is being developed. It brings together specialists in fields such as artificial intelligence, databases, social networks, distributed computing, Web engineering, information systems, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and the social sciences. The Research Track solicited novel and significant research contributions addressing theoretical, analytical, empirical, and practical aspects of the Semantic Web. The Applications Track solicited submissions exploring the benefits and challenges of applying semantic technologies in concrete, practical applications, in contexts ranging from industry to government and science. The newly introduced Resources Track sought submissions providing a concise and clear description of a resource and its (expected) usage. Traditional resources include ontologies, vocabularies, datasets, benchmarks and replication studies, services and software. Besides more established types of resources, the track solicited submissions of new types of resources such as ontology design patterns, crowdsourcing task designs, workflows, methodologies, and protocols and measures.
The two-volume set of LNCS 11778 and 11779 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2019, held in Auckland, New Zealand, in October 2019. The ISWC conference is the premier international forum for the Semantic Web / Linked Data Community. The total of 74 full papers included in this volume was selected from 283 submissions. The conference is organized in three tracks: for the Research Track 42 full papers were selected from 194 submissions; the Resource Track contains 21 full papers, selected from 64 submissions; and the In-Use Track features 11 full papers which were selected from 25 submissions to this track. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2008, held in Karlsruhe, Germany, during October 26-30, 2008. The volume contains 43 revised full research papers selected from a total of 261 submissions, of which an additional 3 papers were referred to the semantic Web in-use track; 11 papers out of 26 submissions to the semantic Web in-use track, and 7 papers and 12 posters accepted out of 39 submissions to the doctorial consortium.
