At recreation time we took long tramps together over the hills and meadows of the island. The place which had before seemed deso late, was soon transformed into a sort of celestial garden of nature. It was Pedro (that was what we called him) that brought the revelation to me. He was a deep and close communist with nature. Every flower seemed to him a human soul, a. Link between God and man. Some times his thoughts about God and humanity were so far away from me, so vague that I couldn't understand him.
