DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe story contains many of the elements of the classic fairy tale - the offended guest at a birthday celebration, the perilous journey to retrieve the object (in this case, the magic nut) that can save the injured princess, the hero's trials and temptations, the competition of suitors seeking the princess' hand and thereby the kingdom - but, in typical Hoffman style, the anticipated happy ending is ultimately postponed - until the story continues in the Tchaikovsky ballet. The book leads the reader through the ballet, scene by scene, with detailed sketches of the sets, costumes, masks, and props created for the production. The authors of the production - Mihail Chemiakin, composer Sergei Slonimsky, and choreographer Donvena Pandoursky - describe their intentions in introductory texts.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKMackie and the Magical Nut I thought long and hard of what I was going to use as a character. I wanted something realistic and fun. I came up with a squirrel because I havent seen one used in a very long time and it was something that kids see all the time, most everywhere. Also if a child was to approach ne, it would run away so they couldnt get hurt. I believe every child and even adults lack some type of confidence and it can be very challenging to get past that awful feeling. Honestly when I created Mackie and the Magical Nut, not only did I have fun doing it, but I could see him being very popular at some point. (Big dream) When my Grandson became old enough to enjoy a story I would always tell him about Mackie and he is without a doubt a true Mackie believer. Even when he stays over and is a little scared at night, he has a stuffed squirrel that he sleeps with and all is well. My daughter tells me all the time when a squirrel runs by, hell say their goes Mackie, or one of his relatives. I have four Grandsons the youngest being two and I have to say, Mackie is a big part of our lives. The names in the book are all related to me somehow, whether its a niece, nephew or son in law and husband. Thank you and have a nice day.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe acclaimed interactive picture book about the changing seasons. “Like Hervé Tullet’s Press Here, Matheson’s Tap the Magic Tree proves you don’t need apps for interactivity,” praised the New York Times. This board book edition is perfect for little hands. Every book needs you to turn the pages. But not every book needs you to tap it, shake it, jiggle it, or even blow it a kiss. Innovative and timeless, Tap the Magic Tree asks you to help one lonely tree change with the seasons. Now that’s interactive—and magical! It begins with a bare brown tree. But tap that tree, turn the page, and one bright green leaf has sprouted! Tap again—one, two, three, four—and four more leaves have grown on the next page. Pat, clap, wiggle, jiggle, and see blossoms bloom, apples grow, and the leaves swirl away with the autumn breeze. The collage-and-watercolor art evokes the bright simplicity of Lois Ehlert and Eric Carle and the interactive concept will delight fans of Pat the Bunny. Combining a playful spirit and a sense of wonder about nature, Christie Matheson has created a new modern classic that is a winner in every season—and every story time! And don't miss the follow-up, Touch the Brightest Star!
