DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe inclusive jet cross section is measured in pp collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC using the CMS experiment. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 34 inverse picobarns. The measurement is made for jet transverse momenta in the range 18-1100 GeV and for absolute values of rapidity less than 3. The measured cross section extends to the highest values of jet pT ever observed and, within the experimental and theoretical uncertainties, is generally in agreement with next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD predictions.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis paper presents a measurement of the inclusive 3-jet production differential cross section at a proton-proton centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMS detector. The analysis is based on the three jets with the highest transverse momenta. The cross section is measured as a function of the invariant mass of the three jets in a range of 445-3270 GeV and in two bins of the maximum rapidity of the jets up to a value of 2. A comparison between the measurement and the prediction from perturbative QCD at next-to-leading order is performed. Within uncertainties, data and theory are in agreement. The sensitivity of the observable to parameters of the theory such as the parton distribution functions of the proton and the strong coupling constant $\alpha_S$ is studied. A fit to all data points with 3-jet masses larger than 664 GeV gives a value of the strong coupling constant of $\alpha_S(M_\mathrm{Z})$ = 0.1171 $\pm$ 0.0013 (exp) $^{+0.0073}_{-0.0047}$ (theo).

DOWNLOAD EBOOKInclusive jet spectra from pp and PbPb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 2.76 TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, are presented. Jets are reconstructed with three different distance parameters for transverse momentum ($p_{\mathrm{T}}$) greater than 70 GeV/$c$ and pseudorapidity $

DOWNLOAD EBOOKWe report on a measurement of the inclusive jet cross section in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV using data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.70 fb−1. Detailed studies of correlations between systematic uncertainties in transverse momentum and rapidity are presented, and the cross section measurements are found to be in good agreement with next-to-leading order QCD calculations.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKWe report on the preliminary measurement of the inclusive jet cross section for[vert-bar][eta][vert-bar][le] 0.5 at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV. Two data sets with integrated luminosities of 91 pb[sup[minus]1] and 14 pb[sup[minus]1] were collected at the Fermilab Tevatron[ovr p]p Collider with the D0 detector. The inclusive jet cross sections are measured and reported as a function of transverse jet energy (35 GeV[le] E[sub T][le] 470 GeV) are in excellent agreement with next-to-leading order QCD. 11 refs., 4 figs.
