DOWNLOAD EBOOKJimmy Buffett is one of the great contemporary singer/songwriters, and it’s hard to imagine a citizen of Planet Earth unfamiliar with such classic hits as “Margaritaville.” Jimmy has also written novels, children’s books, memoirs, and a stage musical based on Herman Wouk’s Don’t Stop the Carnival, and his family-friendly concerts almost always sell out to audiences comprised of a mix of dedicated Parrotheads, casual fans, and newbies. In The Great Filling Station Holdup, editor Josh Pachter presents sixteen short crime stories by sixteen popular and up-and-coming crime writers, each story based on a song from one of the twenty-nine studio albums Jimmy has released over the last half century, from Leigh Lundin’s take on “Truckstop Salvation” (which appeared on Jimmy’s first LP, 1970’s Down to Earth) to M.E. Browning’s interpretation of “Einstein Was a Surfer” (from 2013’s Songs from St. Somewhere). If you love Jimmy’s music or crime fiction or both, you’ll love The Great Filling Station Holdup. Mix yourself a boat drink, ask Alexa to put on a buffet of Buffett tunes, kick back, and enjoy! DOWNLOAD EBOOKMaster the fundamentals of reaction systems modeling for the age of decarbonization Reactor design is one of the most important parts of the oil and gas industry, with reactor processes and the accompanying technologies constantly evolving to meet industry needs. A crucial component of effective reactor design is modelling complex reaction systems, which can help predict commercial performance, shape safety procedures, and more. At a time when decarbonization and clean energy transition are among the fundamental global technological challenges, it has never been more important for engineers to grasp the cutting edge of reaction system modelling. Mathematical Modeling of Complex Reaction Systems in the Oil and Gas Industry provides a systematic introduction to this timely subject. Each chapter provides a step-by-step description of the kinetic and reactor models for a particular kind of process and its accompanying systems. Backed by voluminous experimental data and incorporating extensive simulation results, the book constitutes an indispensable contribution to the global search for clean energy solutions. Mathematical Modeling of Complex Reaction Systems in the Oil and Gas Industry readers will also find: All the required tools for developing new reactor models for different reaction scales Detailed discussion of topics including hydrocracking of heavy oils, catalyst deactivation, oxidative regeneration of catalysts, and many more Extensive treatment of both steady-state and dynamic simulations Mathematical Modeling of Complex Reaction Systems in the Oil and Gas Industry is ideal for chemical and process engineers, computational chemists and modelers, catalysis researchers, and any other researchers or professionals in petrochemical engineering and the oil and gas industry.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKAuthor William Bradford Huie was one of the most celebrated figures of twentieth-century journalism. A pioneer of "checkbook journalism," he sought the truth in controversial stories when the truth was hard to come by. In the case of James Earl Ray, Huie paid Ray and his original attorneys $40,000 for cooperation in explaining his movements in the months before Martin Luther King’s assassination and up to Ray’s arrest weeks later in London. Huie became a major figure in the investigation of King’s assassination and was one of the few persons able to communicate with Ray during that time. Huie, a friend of King, writes that he went into his investigation of Ray believing that a conspiracy was behind King’s murder. But after retracing Ray’s movements through California, Louisiana, Mexico, Canada, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis, and London, Huie came to believe that James Earl Ray was a pathetic petty criminal who hated African Americans and sought to make a name for himself by murdering King. He Slew the Dreamer was originally published in 1970 soon after Ray went to prison and was republished in 1977, but was out of print until the 1997 edition, published with the cooperation of Huie’s widow. This new edition features an essay by scholar Riché Richardson that provides fresh insight, and it includes the 1977 prologue, which Huie wrote countering charges by members of Congress, the King family, and others who claimed the FBI had aided and abetted Ray. In 1970, 1977, 1997, and now, He Slew the Dreamer offers a remarkably detailed examination of the available evidence at the time the murder occurred and an invaluable resource to current debates over the King assassination.
