VII THE CONVERSION AND RESTORATION OF ISRAEL We begin now to look at the blessed things which are connected with the manifestation of Jehovah, our Lord Jesus Christ. From the preceding chapters we have learned that His appearing will be in the day, which is called " the day of the Lord," that this day will come at the end of the great tribulation, during which the nations form ungodly alliances to oppose God and His Anointed, and that Jehovah's manifestation will bring their judgment. But while that day is a day of wrath, it is also a day in which Jehovah will show mercy and fulfil all that which He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets. A new age will begin, the age long foretold, when righteousness and peace kiss each other, when the nations learn war no more, and the knowledge of the glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the deep. We shall look first of all to the Harmony of all Prophecy in predicting the conversion and restoration of Israel. This topic is one of the most prominent in the prophetic Word. We find it quite a task in the limited space we have to condense all in such a way that the reader will get the correct, scriptural view of it, and to show at the same time how the Spirit of God bears witness to this great future of Israel. It may not be altogether out of place to say whom we mean by Israel. There is so much wrong teaching about, that one is forced to refer almost constantly to the most simple foundation truths. The fact is that the most popular interpretation of the Bible makes Israel mean the church.
