"Recognizing the value in future years of possessing a history, setting out the facts concerning the organization and establishment of Park place Christian Church, as well as to preserve a record of the growth and accomplishments of the Church, the Official Board, by appropriate action, at their first meeting, created the office of Church Historian. Thus was the undersigned appointed as first to serve in that capacity. Credit is given to "History of Reno County, Kansas" by Sheridan Ploughe, for valuable data concerning the early Church life of the Community. We believe that future historians will be able to record an ever forward progress of the Disciples of Christ in this Congregation in Hutchinson, and in the "uttermost parts, of the earth", as a result of the vision, sincere faith and joyous efforts of the Charter Members and those who follow through the years."--Preface page 5.
