This book was written to help teenagers and young people slow down and appreciate each day and their lives. For everyone to be thankful for another day on this earth.
We are all on a special journey traveling this road called life. Each day invites us to a brand-new adventure, some of it good and some of it not so good. In His Gentle Care gives us daily meditations followed by scripture references to help us along the way. Through these readings, one can come to appreciate the sounds and beauty of creation from an early morning sunrise to its setting, a gentle breeze or a howling wind, the smell of an early spring shower or freshly cut grass, along with the wonders of each season, much like the seasons of our lives. As we step into each new day, may we take with us all of the lessons we learned from yesterday and face all of the challenges that may come our way, trusting that God will be there to lead us and guide us.
Gifts from the foot of the Cross By: Gary Robert Villani This volume came to fruition at the request of attendees from many of the Sunday school classes the author has led over the past twenty years. The majority of spiritual messages contained in this book came directly from the support material prepared for these sessions, which ultimately led to class members stating, “You’ve got to put that on paper!” Gifts from the foot of the Cross is not a devotional. The underlying theme of the book is simple and direct—it is designed to reach the everyday Christian and let them know they are not alone in facing the stumbles, slips, trips, and falls they may be experiencing in their daily spiritual walk. Additionally, there are numerous suggestions on how to successfully avoid these pitfalls, and each entry is backed by Biblical passages. It is Gary’s sincere hope that the reader will immediately identify with the material in these stories and subsequently find spiritual support and direction to get back on the spiritual wellness trail.
For most of us, we have very little time for brokenness, struggles, and heartaches as we sweep through with an S on our chests, leaping over life's challenges in a single bound. The purpose of this book is to share the good news that we are more than capable of handling all that life throws our way-but first we must reclaim our power, keep our faith, and restore our inner divinity to accept ourselves as the pinnacle of God's creation. Divinely Enough encourages women to - rediscover how to love and appreciate themselves as a divine expression of everything right and beautiful; - understand that we do not have to do anything to earn our divine right to be treated with love and respect; and - refocus on our inner being and reclaim the power we have within ourselves to have more, do more, and know that we deserve all that God has promised. This book will take the reader on a journey through - stories of women who have gone through trials and struggles and who overcame them by acknowledging their faith and inner strength; - the author's life experiences that moved her from a place of self-degradation to self-appreciation; - self-reflective questions for the reader to examine herself in critical areas including self-esteem, self-acceptance, and self-love; and - supporting biblical references that show God's intention for women through His Word. In this uplifting book, Holley Gerth invites readers to sit down with her to be filled with the strength, peace, and joy that come from God's promises to us. Each of the 52 devotions based on the Psalms will help weary women remember that God is good and we're all in this together. Whether it's a bad hair day or a broken heart, Holley offers hope and encouragement to get us through whatever life brings. Women need that kind of encouragement because we all have hard days--days that make us want to give up, retreat inside ourselves, and drown our sorrows in a pint of ice cream. And while we may crave all sorts of things to ease the pain we feel in our hearts, what we really need is truth. We need to be confident in God's character and his promises. We need to remember--and celebrate--who he made us to be. And we need exactly the kind of encouragement Holley Gerth loves to offer.
POETRY E-MOTION is Ronald LaCourses first written poetry of his own original writings. Since 1995, he has dealt with a multitude of situations not allowing him to put his words into poetic form. Ronald has grown up in Cleveland, Ohio, and has two very special children in his life. His two daughters April and Christa have been influenced by his poetry and his work as a single parent. This book is the first in a series to be presented as time prevails allowing influence on the other children and adults to address factors that have made a difference in his life. Ronalds two children have been quite an influence of his poetry and will continue traditional reason to write. A word of advice for future generations: Do not hide your feelings and do not avoid commitments. Once you do, the reason for living seems to be squandered and you, as the individual, has become disoriented and unacceptable. Go with what is in your heart and do what is right for all.
The central theme of Claws of the Raven hasn't varied much from the first book written by Derek Hart. Love is still a wonderful curse and humans go out of their way to complicate every step along the way. When all is said and done, even the author can't manipulate the characters to do and react in ways that are out of character. No matter how hard one tries to make it happen, men and women don't just fall in love and all is bliss. Whenever somebody is brave, or foolish enough, to say, "I love you," then instantly the complications begin. This time it's pirates and swashbuckling adventure at its best!
Have you ever wondered what dying feels like? This is a tragic love story. It is a true story. However, more importantly, it is a story about love, commitment, and faith in God. Tim and Savannah Heller were a happy couple in the prime of their lives. The couple had raised children together, worked hard together, and had started enjoying a golden era in both their lives. Then Savannah started getting sick, and eventually she was informed that she had a terminal illness, and she only had one to two years to live. Imagine the shock. Imagine how one would take that news. Fortunately, Savannah started journaling daily throughout the disease progression. The couple decided to write a book about their experience in an effort to help those others and families going through a terminal disease. As you read her journal entries, you will gain insight of her physical decline and her emotional and mental battles she faced. The story takes you through the trials and tribulations of a couple and family dealing with a terminal illness, but more importantly, it is story of love and hope and beauty—everything Savannah was. One of the couple’s strongest beliefs was the idea that the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. If people can understand this message from this story, then Tim would feel that he has honored Savannah.
Brendan Hartle is taking names and kicking some nasty alien butt. 'The Case of the Curious Killers' is a comic space-opera of epic proportions. When aliens abduct security guard Brendan Hartle for use in a mind-control, propaganda experiment, they soon discover he has no objective reality of his own. This has some unfortunate consequences for the Empire, and those who would usurp it.
Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.
