DOWNLOAD EBOOKAbstract: Graphic and tabular dietary findings, based on theHealth and Nutrition Examination Survey (HANES), in this report are directed to assessment of food pattern profiles of the white and black population, combined and separately. Food intake information was obtained by 24-hour recall of food consumption and food frequency questionnaire in dietaryinterview. Medical examinations tested nutritional deficiencies. Variables included race, oversampling of high risk groups, and income status of person 1-74 years of age. Frequency of consumption of 19 food groups with similar nutritional characteristics ingested daily and/or weekly over the 3-month interval prior to the nutrition interview are presented by age, race, sex, and income level. Regular meals and snacks were reported in six frequency categories. Data provide a basis for identifying groups who need more dietary planning or nutritional counseling and planning educational programs.
