This book explores the effective use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching and learning. Concept-laden and practice-driven discussions offer insights into the art and practice of employing virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), electronic devices, social networks and massive open online courses (MOOCs) in education.
This book constitutes extended papers from the Third International Conference on Technology in Education, ICTE 2018, held in Hong Kong, China, in January 2018. The 27 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 88 submissions. They are organized in topical sections on new learning experience with technologies; mobile learning and flipped classrooms; instructional design and teaching practices; learning administration with technologies.
A pressing challenge in the modern health care system is the gap between education and clinical practice. Emerging technologies have the potential to bridge this gap by creating the kind of team-based learning environments and clinical approaches that are increasingly necessary in the modern health care system both in the United States and around the world. To explore these technologies and their potential for improving education and practice, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine hosted a workshop in November 2017. Participants explored effective use of technologies as tools for bridging identified gaps within and between health professions education and practice in order to optimize learning, performance and access in high-, middle-, and low-income areas while ensuring the well-being of the formal and informal health workforce. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussions from the workshop.
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Second International Conference on Technology and Innovation in Learning, Teaching and Education, TECH-EDU 2020, held in Vila Real, Portugal, in December 2020. The Learning Ideas Conference was created to bring researchers, practitioners, and others together to discuss, innovate, and create. The Learning Ideas Conference 2021 was the 14th annual conference and the first under its new name (following on its predecessors, the International Conference on E-Learning in the Workplace and the International Conference on Interactive Collaborative and Blended Learning). The conference was held online from June 14-18, 2021, and included two special tracks: The ALICE (Adaptive Learning via Interactive, Collaborative and Emotional Approaches) Special Track and a track entitled Building a University of Tomorrow, from the Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in China.
