"When Tank Girl's tank mysteriously disappears and then turns up with a bogus Tank Girl in the driver's seat, all hell breaks loose! But the new Tank Girl has a deep, dark, dirty secret..."--Cover, page 4.
Tank Girl was originally published in the legendary Deadline Magazine between the years of 1988 to 1995. Drawn and written, for the most part by Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin, it mixed a punk aesthetic with Looney Tunes style adventures. In this anniversary series we reappraise the initial run of comics, giving them a shiny new full color treatment in a style consistent with their age and original production, and context with artwork, strips and photos from the Hewlett and Martin archives. Happy Birthday Tank Girl!
The action-packed opening to Tank Girl’s first ever ongoing comic series, from creator Alan Martin and outstanding artist Brett Parson. When Tank Girl gets some bad news, the gang races across the country to make it to her ailing mother (adoptive). But their journey, in the newly christened Tankmaster, leads them right through Action Alley – a place full of wild, insane creatures and dark, evil forces. Join Tank Girl, Booga and the rest of the gang on another thrilling misadventure. “Surprisingly brutal kangaroos” – But Why Tho? “…Captures the feel of the Gonzo Tank Girl World the various comics have created over the years…it’s solid, and looks beautiful.” – Major Spoilers “This is definitely for the grown-up kids” – Sci-Fi Pulse
Through 30 years of chaos, misconduct, and badly-made cheese sandwiches, TANK GIRL has ploughed her own particular, peculiar furrow – always shifting, always changing, never letting anyone pin her down. The trail she has left is strewn with images, anecdotes, and nuggets of pure brown wisdom. In this book we condense her very best moments to bring you the lumpy, erratically pulsing, golden heart of Tank Girl. Page upon page of inspiring images – some old, some new, some borrowed, and some abused. This is a manual for modern times. THIS IS THE WAY OF TANK GIRL.
Picking up where the critically acclaimed hit series Two Girls One Tank left off - Tank Girl has lost one of her dearest friends, but inadvertently gained billions of dollars worth of Nazi Gold. What is she going to spend all that money on? Before we find out, her kangaroo boyfriend Booga must pay a penance by going right up THE FURRY ROAD. It's been swell, and the swelling isn't going down.
Bringing together all the classic Hewlett and Martin Tank Girl comics for the first time in this fantastic slipcased edition with additional material including original art, unseen Hewlett pages, a "lost" Tank Girl story, and a brand new Tank Girl cover by artist Jamie Hewlett. The core Tank Girl works have been lovingly restored for this major collection, spanning the entire Jamie Hewlett era of Tank Girl. With Booga and the rest of the crew in tow, Tank Girl delights in the sort of marvellous mayhem that made us adore her the moment she stomped into our lives with her sexy boots and sassy mouth.
A demented take on Homer’s classical Greek epic, The Odyssey, brought to you by the twisted genius of Peter Milligan (X-Statix) and Tank Girl co-creator and artist, Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz). Booga, Tank Girl’s husband, is being wooed by Hollywood agents but Tank Girl is missing and his resolve is crumbling, fast! Tele, their TV-headed son, sets out on a mercy dash to find his mother... in the process triggering a chain of events that will see Tank Girl, not only, face death itself, the siren call of Goth rock and a cyclopean hotel proprietor, but also a host of other scenes and characters based on The Odyssey... give or take the odd — ahem — “idiosyncratic” Tank Girl twist. With a new introduction from Alan Martin.
A suddenly pregnant Tank Girl and her crew try to stop the forces behind the coming of the apocalypse while a war for bragging rights wages among end-of-the-world groups.
