In these past few years, the number of independent restaurants in Karawang was decreasing. Despite the high failure rate of an independent restaurant, several restaurants survived for more than five years. This study aims to identify factors influencing the success of independent restaurants, as these restaurants appear to be an attractive entrepreneur investment option. However, these independent restaurants suffer a high failure rate when compared to chain or franchised restaurants. Findings from this research showed that the successful restaurateurs shared some similarities and differences in defining the factors that control the restaurant to reach its success, and also factors that could hinder the restaurant from reaching its success.

It examines a wide range of popular traditional religious beliefs and practices. The diverse manifestations of these traditions are considered in an analysis of the belief system, mythology, cosmology and ritual practices in Cirebon. In addition, particular attention is directed to the formal and informal institutionalised transmission of all these traditions
This publication traces the history and restoration of Chandi Borobudur, a Buddhist temple built over 1,000 years ago on the island of Java, Indonesia which was successfully restored during 1973-1983 and listed as a World Heritage Site in 1991. It covers the various aspects of the process, including the long and painstaking task of logging the position of the stones, the studies that revealed the underlying sources of decay, and the important archaeological finds that provided clues to the temple's spiritual past; and includes many of the original drawings and photographs taken from the restoration project archives.

At a time when the legal aid system is facing a major overhaul, this book draws attention to the potential and limits of legal aid for achieving criminal justice for defendants. In bringing together 16 experienced writers and researchers who are prominent in this field, it takes the readerbeyond the hitherto narrow discussion over legal aid, and demonstrates its importance in defending liberty and achieving justice. By drawing on empirical research findings and socio-legal analysis, the authors explore the reasons why legally-aided lawyers have failed, by and large, to turn thetheories that underlie legal aid into a practical reality. The book also shows that legal aid can at least be used to ameliorate the injustice of the criminal process itself, however, to do so the potential for criminal justice within the existing system needs to be exploited to the full.
