An Englishman dies in a car bomb explosion in Holland. A professional assassination with no chance that the killers will be caught. The Dutch investigators cannot fi nd a motive for the killing of Simon Craig and pass the files to the British police. Newly promoted Chief Inspector Randall is given the task of investigating Simon Craigs background, family, and friends. He quickly discovers that Craig was a conceited and ruthless womanizer living a multidimensional life and making himself very rich at the expense of his employers. Randall deduces that Craig was also blackmailing his bosses. The evidence Craig was threatening them with showed the workings of The Cluban illegal cartel. Craig had sent the proof to his solicitor in Penzance for safekeeping. When Randall visited Susan Robson, she claimed it had been destroyed in a fire. Randall suspends the investigation just as Robson and a friend decide to publish Craigs documents and expose widespread corruption in business and an EU department responsible for competition law compliance. Two more people die before Robson and her friend can be stopped. No one in authority wants the story to break.

Powerless against the raging waters, she is suddenly sucked into a ventilated cave. One by one, Jill and her family also emerge in the sunken cavern. With only a faulty diving flashlight to keep oblivion at bay Stella and her best friend's brother, Colin, search the cave in hope of finding a way back to the surface. What they discover, however, is that they are not alone. There are other survivors in this subterranean grotto–survivors spanning decades of maritime disasters. Will this discovery prove salvation, or have they all been condemned to the same fate? A grim finale at the bottom of the sea? On an alliance forged by friendship and attraction, Stella and Colin battle to escape the danger that lies beneath.

The sestina (of medieval French origin) is a complex poetic form of 39 lines (six sestets and a three-line "envoy") in which the six end-words (teleutons) of the lines of the first sestet stanza are repeated in a specific order as teleutons in the five succeeding sestets. In the envoy, the six teleutons are again picked up, one of them being buried in, and one finishing, each line. Because of the complexity of the form, the sestina fell out of favor with poets for several decades. However, a twenty-first century revival of the form is underway. This is the first anthology of sestinas that showcases both traditional and innovative examples of the form by modern and contemporary poets, award winners, and emerging writers alike. Organized by such themes as Americana; Art; Love and Sex; and Memory, Contemplation, Retrospection, and Death, the collection also includes sestinas with irregular teleutons and unconventional sestinas. An evocative introduction by Marilyn Krysl acquaints readers with the form. The volume concludes with useful indexes of first lines and teleutons, increasing access to the poems beyond the poets' names.
