Mr. Hayden points out that the key to the revival which arose under Spurgeon's ministry, and went on almost continuously throughout his long and fruitful pulpit career, is to be found in Spurgeon's autobiography. There, Spurgeon reveals and credits the membership of his new Park Street Chapel and their earnest, all-out prayer for his success in the ministry. This documented study of Spurgeon's emphasis upon and attitude toward revival will reward today's reader with insight into and understanding of our need for revival today--and the only source from which this revival can come. A prayerful reading of these pages could well result in renewed and revitalized Christian living among God's people today.

It is fair to say that Charles Haddon Spurgeon is one of the best-known preachers in the history of the world. It is definite that he was England's best-known preacher for the second half of the 19th century. He took Christ as his Lord and Saviour in 1850 and just four years later was called to be the pastor of London's famed New Park Street Church. It was under his pastoral care that this Church outgrew its building and had to move to new premises. This new site gave rise to a new name, one that is renowned even today, the Metropolitan Tabernacle. We are delighted to present to you Spurgeon's sermons in this new series of publications. This book is the collection of 12 of C.H. Spurgeon's sermons, faithfully recorded and edited for publication. The subject of these sermons addresses the great need of the world and the Church today - Revival. These sermons form Spurgeon's teaching on the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. This theme is without doubt a matter that each Christian wants to experience and witness in our land today. It is our hope and prayer that these sermons will bless you just as they did those who listened to the 'Prince of Preachers' over a century ago. This is still a treasure of wisdom and encouragement for the 21st century.

A Revival Sermon is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by one of the most important Christian writers of all time. A devotional message of faith and hope for you. Charles Haddon (CH) Spurgeon,19 June 1834 - 31 January 1892) was a British Particular Baptist preacher. Spurgeon remains highly influential among Christians of various denominations, among whom he is known as the "Prince of Preachers". He was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist , defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day. It is estimated that in his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people,Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was part of several controversies with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later had to leave the denomination. In 1867, he started a charity organisation which is now called Spurgeon's and works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him posthumously. Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Spurgeon produced powerful sermons of penetrating thought and precise exposition. His oratory skills held his listeners spellbound in the Metropolitan Tabernacle and many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature.

Churches pray for it.Christians long for it.Ministers declare it a matter to be sought after. But what is revival? To some it is the sweeping power of the Holy Spirit converting towns and villages. To others it is the closing of drinking establishments and a weeping over sin. To yet more people it is the transformation of the Holy Spirit in the life of the individual. To Spurgeon revival was a complex matter to be investigated thoroughly but not with a narrow mind. This collection of Spurgeon's sermons demonstrates that he has spent much time considering the nature of revival. His teaching on the subject is second to none and helps us, the Christian in the 21st century, to grasp what God means when He speaks of revival. The Prince of Preachers, Charles H. Spurgeon (19th June 1834 - 31 January 1892) was not only a wonderful orator but also magnificent with his pen. The sermons he preached touched the lives of thousands. His writings still continue to reach those who read them to this very day. Reading Spurgeon today may be secondary to the impossibility of hearing him but there is no doubt that his words still carry the weight of Biblical truth. Spurgeon is best remembered as the pastor the Metropolitan Tabernacle, London, England. There he enjoyed many years of fruitful ministry, leading people to Christ and pastoring the ever growing congregation of the Church.
