Force Point (Fp) Counting will help you to count your hand directly in contract tricks (the tricks that are above the initial 6 tricks, which are not counted in the game of bridge). The Fp Counting itself is a new low of the Total Tricks, much better than the old one. The sum of both hands contract tricks, yours and your partner, will give to you the game's Play Level (PL). No need evaluations by the time of the initial count, but one of you, who will ask his partner to reveal the exact distribution (between around 500 possible distributions), must apply some tricks' adjustments when a new distribution changes are discovered by the time of the Bidding. When you discover partner's exact shape, you will ask for the exact number of the contract tricks, thus finding your exact PL. Then if the PL = 5.5 you must ask your partner for all of the TOP Honors. With Fp you will be able to discover all of the partner's Aces + Kings + Queens with one only question - one answer! No other bridge system is capable of doing that! Then you have to calculate the final PL, and may ask your partner where are the TOP Honors or directly to choose the final contract. The calculations are for a 7 grader, so the difficult decisions in the game of bridge proved to be a simple arithmetic, not even a math. Using one only SCOR-SCOR Convention for all of your Distribution and Control needs (along with the classical Stayman, of course) will allow to you to see transparently the exact cards and lengths of the suits of your partner before the attack. The Playing is your own responsibility, I can only assist you about the Bidding. On Bidding Contests with 12 TOP Matchpoint scoring, Fp will provide to you no less than 70% (usually close to 80%), but pay attention that on such Contests you will have to bid most difficult distributional games collected around the world. For the love of the Game Force Point Bidding Developer: Mr. Pawell Boiew

The 2/1 Game Force System is an improvement over the Standard American System that has been in effect and played by bridge players for many years. The advantage of the 2/1 System is that it allows the partnership to know that game is possible with only an initial single bid. This book is about bridge that incorporates conventions that allow partnership’s to reach game or slam. In this regard, I have incorporated modern methods for hand evaluation developed by Marty Bergen called the ADJUST-3 Method and Zar points, new bidding conventions like SARS (Shape Asking Relays after Stayman) and Quest transfers, and an overview of “Bridge Rules and Laws” that I hope will improve your approach to the bidding structure you may use today. Also included is the bidding structure are Bergen, Reverse Bergen, and Combined Bergen major suit raises, inverted minor suit raises with crisscross and flip-flop, cue bidding, modified scroll bids, and many more methods not used in Standard American or Precision. The bidding conventions in the previous editions have been enhanced, corrected, expanded upon, and reorganized with new ones added. Given the release of the new ACBL convention charts, the chapter with the modifications to Fantunes, in my prior edition, is no longer needed. Fantunes may now be played using the Open Convention Chart. The Mid-chart no longer exits. Hence, I have deleted the chapter and replaced it with a new chapter on Bridge Tips, and Agreements. New conventions include a Modern Splinter Bidding Convention, the Zirconia Convention, Unusual 2-level bids, Jump Transfer bids, a new Two-Way Check-back Convention, 1430 Modified Jacoby 2NT*, additional Bridge Rules with more examples, Four-Way Transfers with the range ask bid and more are included in this edition. Also included is an update of the Minorwood and the Roman Keycard Blackwood Conventions, Two-Way New Minor Forcing with modified Wolff Signoff bids and new bidding sequences using Mini/Weak Notrump. The topic of Offense to Defense Ratio (ODR) is included in this revision as well as expanded bidding sequences when opening and responding to the bid of 2 playing the 2/1 Game Force System and many new Bridge Rules have been added to Chapter 10. Subtitled A Complete System for Bridge Beginners and Advancing Players, Wait-A-Minute Bridge teaches the basics and more advanced techniques of the play of the hand, bidding, and defense. Stevens uses the device of stopping the action from time to time by having an imaginary reader say, "Wait a minute!" He then discusses a point in more detail so the reader can understand the reasoning behind the rule. Leavened with a healthy dose of humor, Wait-A-Minute Bridge is the perfect book for bridge beginners and intermediate players. Have fun; play bridge!

This book offers a multifaceted approach to the world of young adults, everything from Ray Schrock’s use of Walter Dean Myers’ sports stories to discuss race relations and cultural politics to Joyce Litton’s analysis of the highly popular Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Quartet. The cover illustration is done by Joel Rudinger based on his experiences with the Inuit where he learned many of their legends and myths, resulting in his own excellent work on Sedna, the creation goddess, a story filled with deep tragedy, mystery and the world of the spirits. This mythic world slides into the discussion of Harry Eiss, one that focuses on The Isis Trilogy, best known of Monica Hughes many works, who writes, “Science fiction and fantasy in particular are valid carriers of myth for the 20th century, and most especially for young people.” Margaret Best and Susann deVries also give us literature that uses science. They begin, “The science fair project is the central metaphor and the reality in Paul Zindel’s The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds (1970), Christopher Paul Curtis’s Bucking the Sarge (2004), and Joyce Maynard’s The Cloud Chamber (2005). After providing an overview science fiction, Sally Sugarman offers a study of the entire genre. “For this study two hundred and thirty-nine high school students from two schools in Vermont and Massachusetts were surveyed.” Alethea K. Helbig provides an overview of her important activities promoting literature for the young. She was a seminal scholar and educator when colleges and universities were just beginning to take the study of such literature seriously, when English departments were initiating serious undergraduate and graduate classes in what previously had been seen as inferior literature. Her life itself provides us with an entertaining and historically valuable autobiographical account of a person at the center of the change that has taken and continues to take place. Jerry Loving expands the horizons of the entire collection of essays, providing a firsthand account of how the young are educated in China, including a detailed history. It begins: “I have been traveling to mainland China at least 4 to 6 times a year as a teacher or education evaluator since 2002. As the visits and years passed, I watched the education system of China slowly improve to the level my schools were like when I went to school in the 50’s and 60’s
