John Wallis was born 3 November 1803 in North Carolina. His parents were John James Wallis and Elizabeth Fuller. He marrried Lucretia Lockhart (1804-1890), daughtere of William Mitchell Lockhart and Catherine Scott, in 1822. They had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia.
