Reference is made, in the pages which follow, to certain of the exceptional cases decided on appeal by the Supreme Judicial Court and now pending before that tribunal for decision, as well as to a few of the cases acted upon by the Board from which no appeal has been taken by the parties at interest. All of the cases are referred to alphabetically in the index which precedes this introduction, and a comprehensive subject index in the pages which immedi ately follow the reports of cases will direct persons to the particular decisions in which they are interested.
