DOWNLOAD EBOOKMatching the abilities of men entering the Army to the demands of training courses and jobs is an ever-critical problem facing Army personnel management. Aptitude area composites have been developed to measure the potential of the men, and the scores from these composites are used in making decisions about the men's assignments. The productivity of the men in their training and job assignments can be enhanced by obtaining more accurate assessments of their potential to perform in the different job categories. Based on a longitudinal study of the effectiveness of the Army classification battery (ACB) tests in predicting training success in military occupational specialty (MOS) courses, an improved set of aptitude area composites has now been developed. These composites and the benefits that would derive from their use are described in the present report.
