DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe research community lacks both the capability to explain the effectiveness of existing techniques and the metrics to predict the security properties and vulnerabilities of the next generation of nano-devices and systems. This book provides in-depth viewpoints on security issues and explains how nano devices and their unique properties can address the opportunities and challenges of the security community, manufacturers, system integrators, and end users. This book elevates security as a fundamental design parameter, transforming the way new nano-devices are developed. Part 1 focuses on nano devices and building security primitives. Part 2 focuses on emerging technologies and integrations.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis book helps engineers to grasp fundamental theories and design principles by presenting physical and intuitive explanations of switched-capacitor circuits. Numerous circuit examples are discussed and the author emphasizes the most important and fundamental principles involved in implementing state-of-the-art switched-capacitor circuits for analog signal processing and power management applications. Throughout the book, the author presents numerous step-by-step tutorials and gives practical design examples. While some quantitative analysis is necessary to understand underlying concepts, tedious mathematical equations and formal proofs are avoided. An intuitive appreciation for switched-capacitor circuits is achieved.Much of the existing information on contemporary switched-capacitor circuit applications is in the form of applications notes and data sheets for various switched-capacitor ICs. This book compiles such information in a single volume and coherently organizes and structures it.The author has his own website at www.mingliangliu.com * Step-by-step tutorials which emphasize the most fundamental principals of switched-capacitor circuits * Few tedious mathematical equations * The first easy-to-understand compilation on this subject--most information available is not very cohesive

DOWNLOAD EBOOKLogic Synthesis and Verification Algorithms is a textbook designed for courses on VLSI Logic Synthesis and Verification, Design Automation, CAD and advanced level discrete mathematics. It also serves as a basic reference work in design automation for both professionals and students. Logic Synthesis and Verification Algorithms is about the theoretical underpinnings of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits). It combines and integrates modern developments in logic synthesis and formal verification with the more traditional matter of Switching and Finite Automata Theory. The book also provides background material on Boolean algebra and discrete mathematics. A unique feature of this text is the large collection of solved problems. Throughout the text the algorithms covered are the subject of one or more problems based on the use of available synthesis programs.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKIn Interconnect-centric Design for Advanced SoC and NoC, we have tried to create a comprehensive understanding about on-chip interconnect characteristics, design methodologies, layered views on different abstraction levels and finally about applying the interconnect-centric design in system-on-chip design. Traditionally, on-chip communication design has been done using rather ad-hoc and informal approaches that fail to meet some of the challenges posed by next-generation SOC designs, such as performance and throughput, power and energy, reliability, predictability, synchronization, and management of concurrency. To address these challenges, it is critical to take a global view of the communication problem, and decompose it along lines that make it more tractable. We believe that a layered approach similar to that defined by the communication networks community should also be used for on-chip communication design. The design issues are handled on physical and circuit layer, logic and architecture layer, and from system design methodology and tools point of view. Formal communication modeling and refinement is used to bridge the communication layers, and network-centric modeling of multiprocessor on-chip networks and socket-based design will serve the development of platforms for SoC and NoC integration. Interconnect-centric Design for Advanced SoC and NoC is concluded by two application examples: interconnect and memory organization in SoCs for advanced set-top boxes and TV, and a case study in NoC platform design for more generic applications.
