Family of Peter Winney, who generally appears in Dutch records as Pieter Winne, was born 1609 in Ghent, Flanders, the son of Franciscus Winne. He was of Curacao, West Indies in 1643 when his son, Pieter Jr., was born but lived in Bethlehem, Albany Co., New York most of his adult life. Pieter Jr. was born from his first marriage to Aechie Jans. He married (2) Tannatje Adams born in the city of Leuwaenden, Friesland. He had twelve children by his second wife. Descendants live in New York, Ohio and elsewhere.
