This working document contains the detailed performance objectives for the courses certified by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training as identified in its Training Needs Assessment Survey of 1977. The project design and development process were a joint effort of the Training Standards Committee of the California Peace Officers' Association and POST. This work resulted in the development of 857 performance objectives for the twenty-five POST technical courses. Although success criteria and instructional technology for the course objectives and presentation were identified as being highly desirable, this information was too difficult to determine and measure prior to implementation. Therefore, it is not included in this document.
