The writing is artistically excellent, taking full advantage of the capabilities of the instruments. Flute teachers will find Our Song Shall Rise to Thee to be a wonderful source of material for church and school contests, yet the selections are appropriate as preludes and offertories for worship services. Hymns are more than beautiful musical compositions; they provide us with a heightened language for praising and speaking to God, all while teaching us theology that reflects both the depth and complexity of Our Lord.
