DOWNLOAD EBOOKUnlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from Our Homeland Prehistoric Antiquities: And How to Study Them Almost all the books dealing with the science of prehistoric archaeology, are works for the advanced student, who is assumed to be familiar with the more elementary portions of the subject. This assumption is not always justified. As a consequence, in his early days of collecting specimens of the handiwork of prehistoric man, the author obtained little help from books and was compelled to rely on his own observa tions. The following pages have been written at the suggestion of Mr. Prescott Row, of the Homeland Association, in the hope that they may supply the needs of the beginner, and enable him to discriminate between stones shaped by natural forces and those chipped by man, and to classify them according to present knowledge. Reference is also made to early track ways, barrows, pottery, flint-mining, megalithic remains, dwellings and camps. In the glossary an attempt has been made to define some of the loosely-applied technical terms, and to give such information as will enable the reader to comprehend more advanced books.
