DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from Official Descriptive Catalogue of Colonial and Revolutionary Relics: Now in Possession of the Citizens of New Jersey It has been deemed fitting at this great National epoch to preserve a record of the valuable and historic relics, which are to be found in the possession and the custody of the people of our State. The Board of Women Managers of the Exhibit of the State of New Jersey, World's Columbian Exposition, has directed me to prepare a descriptive catalogue of the ancient historic documents, the quaint furniture, the old portraits and curious relics of the Colonial period of New Jersey and of the Revolutionary War. Such a list, although years instead of months be given to its preparation, may not be pronounced complete, but an honest effort has been made to compile a record, which it is hoped may in future years be of service to the student of history, to the Jersey-man proud of his State, and to the patriotic lover of his country.
