DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis volume collects the contributions to the international conference "Nuclear Structure and Dynamics", held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from May 4 to 8, 2009. The conference was hosted by the Physics Department of the University of Zagreb and the Ruder Boškovic Institute. Following the long tradition of nuclear physics meetings on the Adriatic coast, organized by our two institutions, the Conference presented a review of recent experimental and theoretical advances in the physics of nuclear structure and reactions, and provided a broad discussion forum on current and future research projects. The main focus was on the following topics: Nuclear structure and reactions far from stability - Exotic modes of excitation and decays - Collective phenomena and symmetries - Ab initio, cluster model, and shell-model approaches - Nuclear energy density functionals - Heavy-ion reactions at near-barrier energies - Dynamics of light-ion reactions - Nuclear reactions of astrophysical interest - Weak-interaction processes. More than 170 nuclear physicists from over 30 countries participated in "Nuclear Structure and Dynamics". The considerable interest in this meeting was reflected not only in the number of participants but also in the large number of received abstracts. Following the suggestions of the International Advisory Committee, only about half of the submitted abstracts could be selected for oral presentation. In addition to 24 invited talks, more than 80 oral contributions were presented. An evening poster session was organized as part of the conference. An effort was made to provide the opportunity for young researchers to present their work, and selected posters were accepted for very short oral presentation.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKNuclear Dynamics at Low and Medium Energies and Nuclear Structure starting from the basics of the low energy heavy ion collisions, this volume encompasses advanced topics of current interests in the areas of nuclear physics around the Fermi energy domain such as multifragmentation, liquid gas phase transition, isospin physics, thermodynamics of finite systems and nuclear structure of heavy nuclei under exotic conditions. On the experimental side, interaction of radiation with matter, basics of experimental, simulation and data analysis techniques and their applications to large, complicated multi-detector experimental environments have been discussed in detail. Written by distinguished scientists in related fields, this book will be useful for beginners as well as practitioners in the field of experimental and theoretical nuclear physics around the Fermi energy domain and nuclear structure.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThese proceedings contain selected topics covering various fields of collective motion and nuclear dynamics, ranging from low to high energies, from nuclear structure to reaction mechanisms, from regular stable to chaotic systems, and from fragmentation to fusion. Several ways of investigating the nuclear systems are presented: electron scattering radioactive beams, fragmenting projectiles, beta and double beta decays, and cluster emission. Their behaviour, under some extreme situations such as superdeformation, high spin states, high temperature, and relativisitic energy, is described within various theoretical formalisms.
