DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from A Narrative of the Military Actions of Colonel Marinus Willett, Taken Chiefly From His Own Manuscript Sir, The following pages contain a plain and unadorned narrative of the principal military actions in which Col. Willett was engaged during the French and Revolutionary wars: together with an account of his Mission to the Creek Indians. The whole narrative is little more than a transcript of what he himself wrote, after he had attained his seventieth year. In it, will be found a few incidents of an interesting nature, connected with our Revolutionary war, which heretofore have been but slightly, if at all, touched by the pen of the traveller or the historian: while the circumstances that these pages contain the otherwise perishing memorials of one of our oldest Revolutionary Soldiers, will, it is hoped, impart to them a peculiar interest.
