Each book highlights one single phonogram and gives examples of words that include the same sound along with engaging pictures that reinforce letter-sound connections. Words vary in length from three letters to multisyllables. The phonogram is in a contrasting color to clearly show visually where it is in each word. Full-color photographs bring the words to life. The series Alphabet: Consonants (21 book set) has all of the hard consonants, including the hard sound of y, with the sound at the beginning. However, since the letter x is typically found at the end of words, the words in this book end with the letter x. Each short vowel gets a book in the series Alphabet: Short Vowels (5 book set).
