He died before 28 September 1748 in Danbury, Fairfield, Connecticut. Reverend Joshua Sweet (1812-1874) is believed to be the great grandson of Joshua and Susanna. He was born in Ogdensburg, New York. He married Julia Ann Berry (1827-1865) 28 May 1848. They had four children. He married Jeannette E. Sykes DeCamp, a widow and mother of five children, in 1866. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut, New York, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana and California.
