Philip Janszen Ringo (ca. 1615-1662) was born at Vlissengen, Zeeland, Netherlands, and was living at New Amsterdam by 1643. He married Geertje Cornelis at New Amsterdam in 1647. They had five children, 1649-1658. He fell overboard and was drowned in the Atlantic Ocean. His grandson, Philip Ringo (1682-1757), was born at New York City, the son of Albertus Ringo (1656-1734) and Jannetje Stoutenburg Ringo.. He died in Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Descendants of his sons, Henry Ringo (1739-1824) and Cornelius Ringo (1739-1824), lived in Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, California, and elsewhere.
