DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from Balabish: Thirty-Seventh Memoir of the Egypt Exploration Society AT the close of the season of 1914, at Abydos, Mr. G. A. Wainwright and I turned to a special concession granted to the Egypt Exploration Society by the Department of Antiquities, in response to a request of the American branch of the Society for Objects for a group of small American museums. The site included Sawama and Balabish. Both had been previously excavated by the Department of Antiquities, as well as frequently plundered by natives, but it was thought that they might still yield types of pottery much sought by the museums, and, perhaps, other objects Of interest.
