DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe U.S. Air Force, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and Federal Aviation Agency have engaged in a joint research program for the purpose of measuring sonic-boom pressure signatures. These measurements are presented for several locations for flight tests of fighter and bomber airplanes in the altitude range from about 10,000 to 75,000 feet and at Mach numbers from 1.1 to 2.0. Data were obtained for a variety of atmospheric wind and temperature gradients and for various flight paths and acceleration rates.
