We don’t often see players who prefer to play for the love of the game and not the fame—players like the 28-year-old Kawhi Leonard. Earlier this year, the quiet Kawhi led the Toronto Raptors in their most successful season yet, when they won the NBA (National Basketball Association) championship for the first time in history. Kawhi joined the team in 2018 and was also named the NBA Finals MVP (Most Valuable Player) for the second time in his career. The first time he won the award was in 2014, when he helped the San Antonio Spurs to their fifth championship. He hopes to do the same for his new team, the Los Angeles Clippers. With his extremely large hands and ability to score from anywhere on the court, the “Klaw” continues to rise through the ranks of the NBA. In Kawhi’s case, he is living proof that with enough hard work and persistence, greatness can be achieved.
