DOWNLOAD EBOOKJaques Fontaine (1658-1728) was born in France, the fifth child of Jaques Fontaine (1603-1666) and Marie Chaillou (1615-1680). He was Huguenot in his religious beliefs and was, therefore, forced to flee France during the time of religious persecution. He went first to London where other members of the Fontaine family had settled and, later, to Ireland. He eventually settled in Dublin where he spent his remaining years. Descendants live in the United States.
