Excerpt from Journal of the Twenty-Sixth Annual Convention of the Department of Massachusetts, Woman's Relief Corps: Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, People's Temple, Boston, Mass;, February 14 and 15, 1905 The opening session of the Twenty-sixth Annual Convention of the Department of Massachusetts, Woman's Relief Corps, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, was called to order at ten o'clock a.m. by Mrs. Annie M. Warne, Department President, in the People's Temple, Boston, Tuesday, February 14, 1905. Mrs. Lizzie M.Richards, Department Senior Aide, led by the Color Bearers, escorted to the platform the Department Officers, Mrs. Anna Frances Fiel off P. H. The Department President then appointed the following to serve as Color Bearers for Wednesday; Mrs. Hattie M.Bates, Mrs. Sadie E.Holmes, Miss Amanda J.Ferry, and Mrs. N. Mecuen, Department Inspector, whose presence we miss to-day. Mrs. Warne asked the assistance of all the members in her efforts to have the work conducted promptly, and closed by saying: - "May wise deliberations and perfect harmony be the leading features of this Convention." Prayer by Mrs. Elizabeth P.Sawyer, Department Chaplain. The flag salute was then given, followed by singing "America." Rev. Charles A. Crane, D.D., pastor of the People's Temple, was present by invitation to extend a welcome to his church. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
