Many of us go through our entire lives giving and receiving gifts, often unaware we are doing so. Jonathans goal was to give the gift of servicefrom his dreams of a military career to the hospitality industry to civil service and finally to serve anyone suffering from the effects of addiction. Jonathan passed away on May 4, 2010, yet his spirit lives with us today. At this moment, he might say, My gift to you is awareness. I want to make you aware of what it is like to have a severe addiction problem. If you are suffering from addiction, ask yourself, Do I want to follow Jonathans path? Shouldnt I dedicate myself to changing and becoming the loving and trustworthy person that I know, deep inside me, I am? If you are a family member, I present to you how my family tried to assist me. The heartache that I caused them was overridden by the spirit of faith, hope, and love that they shared for me. They disagreed and argued over what course of action to take to heal me, and they became angry and impatient with me many times. But in the end, I know they love me. To those of you who have never experienced addiction in your family, I present the gifts of compassion and non-judgment. This disease is difficult to overcome, and has become a disease of epidemic proportions in our country. I ask that you step back and try to understand what these people are going through. I once wrote, Where there is life, there should also be love. Nothing could be truer.

He was the pop star with the raccoon eyes who sang ‘Hollywood Seven’ and ‘Six Ribbons’; the swashbuckling Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance; the rocker who packed beer barns across Australia; and, in the words of Tim Rice, ‘a brilliantly judged and truly exciting’ Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar. On the small screen he was as comfortable portraying Bobby Rivers in All Together Now as he was Jonathan Garrett in Against the Wind. But there was a lot more to Jon English. He was a proud father of four who married his high school sweetheart. He was so devoted to the Parramatta Eels that he wrote one of their team songs. And he was also a composer whose rock opera, Paris, proved to be the biggest challenge of his life. Written with the full support of Jon’s family, friends and peers, Behind Dark Eyes swings from the massive highs of Jesus Christ Superstar and pop stardom to the turmoil brought about by creative frustration and depression - and Jon’s tragic death in 2016 at the age of 66.

Abandoned by the wife with whom he raised his daughter Elizabeth until the age of three, under the advice of his best friend and literary agent, Andy Jackson, he decides to move back to Los Angeles to start a new life. Known already from the literary and film scene, his return to the city will be an opportunity to re-establish old past, sometimes even unwanted relationships. An old acquaintance in particular will be a great opportunity for James to make new friends with Stacy: the first girl he really loved, before getting to know Karen. Meanwhile, Andy, his literary agent, is in the midst of a marriage crisis in which his wife threatens to take away everything he owns. The arrival of Lucy, a young and beautiful aspiring actress, will not simplify the situation. Meanwhile, James will have the opportunity to meet Allison, a young girl with piercing blue eyes, who will unexpectedly change the cards at table putting at risk the newly created relationship with Stacy: a young and charming woman, kind and sweet, for the which he will start to feel completely unexpected feelings. In the second episode of California Dreaming, a series created by the award-winning novelist Andrew J. Smith and sponsored with the help of California Dreaming Production, will be full of twists, sensual and romantic backgrounds, which will enjoy in the reader's mind a exciting series to read in one breath.

Can you imagine not being able to speak or communicate? The silence, the loneliness, the pain. But, inside you disappear to magical places, and even meet your best friend there. However, most of the time you remain imprisoned within the isolation. Waiting, longing, hoping. Until someone realises your potential and discovers your key, so your unlocking can begin. Now you are free, flying like a wild bird in the open sky. A voice for the voiceless. Jonathan Bryan has severe cerebral palsy, a condition that makes him incapable of voluntary movement or speech. He was locked inside his own mind, aware of the outside world but unable to fully communicate with it until he found a way by using his eyes to laboriously choose individual letters, and through this make his thoughts known. In Eye can Write, we read of his intense passion for life, his mischievous sense of fun, his hopes, his fears and what it's like to be him. This is a powerful book from an incredible young writer whose writing ability defies age or physical disability - a truly inspirational figure. Foreword by Sir Michael Morpurgo A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Jonathan Bryan's charity, Teach Us Too. http://www.teachustoo.org.uk/
